Regional Futures

Regional Futures project

Storytelling / Videos / Photography / Project documentation

Regional Futures was a two-year state-wide creative project funded by Create NSW and delivered by the NSW Regional Arts Network. The project aimed to promote collaboration by bringing artists and other experts together to explore the future of the regions. Artists from the 15 Regional Arts Network member organisations participated in a 10-week self-directed creative development program and the project culminated in an exhibition of new works held in Sydney.

Working to a set budget and collaborating with Jack of Hearts Studio, Frank & Earnest liaised with the Regional Futures team to handpick the artists to be filmed, coordinating filming with these artists (located across regional NSW) and produced a series of videos and photographs with a consistent look and feel. This included handling the project from first contact with artists and establishing the filming schedule through to the content shoots, editing, signoff, and delivery of five micro-documentaries and one overarching promotional video.

In parallel, we worked with the Regional Arts Development Officers in each area to identify photographers in each location and then liaised with them and all remaining artists to capture images within the allocated budget and timeframe. Part of the project management included regular updates to the Regional Futures team to ensure all parties were across progress and any issues identified along the way were resolved within the tight production window.

I should start with a flood of compliments to you all for the videos. They are fabulous and you have certainly managed to weave together the stories about each project.
